CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL BRONZE UNIVERSEL

Chanel Universel Bronzer £30
Okay I know, I know there are hundreds of reviews on this product but I have had not such a good experience with this product.
When I first applied this I loved it, it left my skin looking as if I had been in the sun for a few days, with sunkissed and glowing skin. After wearing it for a for a week I started to have a few breakouts, which I just thought was normal. After this went on for a couple of weeks, I decided to overview my makeup bag and new products I had been using, to see what had been causing the breakouts and unfortunately it was this product. I love the way my skin looked when I applied this, but now i'm too scared to use it because of how badly it broke me out.

Has this happened to anyone else who has used this product?

MY EVERYDAY MAKEUP BRUSHES

These are the brushes that I use everyday, I keep my brushes in a old strawberry jar which I cleaned out and added some ribbons too, which looks super cute.
Here are my face brushes and as you can tell i'm a little bit of a Real Technique brush lover! (As is everyone) They apply makeup so lovely, are affordable and clean so easily. Also I absolutely adore watching pixiwoo makeup videos!
Starting from the left, the first brush is a Real Techniques powder brush which I use to apply my bronzer, I love to have a big fluffy brush to give me a sun kissed glow and with this brush it makes that really easy to achieve. Next is a Real Techniques blush brush which I use to set my my makeup with powder, then I have my Real Techniques stippling brush which I use to apply my creme blusher. For foundation I either use a Real Techniques expert face brush, for when I use a powder foundation or the last brush in the row which is a Real Techniques foundation brush which I use when using a liquid foundation. Lastly the brush I use to blend my concealer under my eyes is a Real Techniques setting brush
These are the brushes which I use everyday for my eyes. Starting at the top I use a Topshop angled brush for my eyebrows as I use eyeshadow to fill in my brows, as it looks so natural. Next is a Urban Decay shadow brush which I use to apply my base shadow colour to my lid, then I use a Real Techniques shading brush in my crease to add definition to my eye. Next is a Benefit fluff shadow brush which I use to blend my eyeshadow. Lastly is Maybelline brush which comes with a gel liner and I use this to type line my eyes.

So here are all the brushes I use everyday. What brush brand is your favourite?

MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL

Macadamia Natural Oil 125ml (£29.95)
I have seen so many reviews on Moroccan oil(which surprisingly I have never tried) but not many on Macadamia Natural oil. After dying my hair blonde to brown, blonde to brown many times, my hair isn't in as good of condition as it could be(to say the least). My hairdresser gave me a sample of this oil and after applying it to the tips of my hair I was amazed at how soft my hair was! So I went online to see where I could purchase it. After looking at the website I was put of buy the price tag- £29.95 for a 125ml bottle. Then I came across a bottle on amazon for £9(bargain)so I ordered it. It came later that week and I was shocked at why it was so cheap as there was nothing at all wrong with it.

The oil smells divine, I like to apply it to the tips of freshly washed hair which is still slightly damp as I feel this gives the best result. This oil is lovely it leaves my hair feeling and looking soft and makes the few split ends I have unnoticeable.

Even though I like the Macadamia Natural Oil I feel there is products that are just as good without the hefty price tag. Therefore I am going to try out the Moroccan Oil and other brands before I think about repurchasing.

MY EVERYDAY SCHOOL MAKEUP

My everyday makeup for school is pretty simple, as it needs to be quick(especially as i'm usually late). On the weekends I opt for a smokey eye, which I will show you in a future post.

For my base for everyday, I use Bare minerals original foundation, even though I like this foundation and it suits my combination skin, i'm not totally in love with it. Therefore i'm on the look out for a new foundation so any recommendations would be appreciated! I then use Rimmel wake me up concealer for under my eyes and Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer(which every women and daughter has) on any blemishes. I then set all of that with Rimmel stay matte powder. For bronzing I use Estee Lauder bronzer goddess(which I love and have loved for over a year). For blush I use a creme blush by Topshop called flush to add a little colour to my cheeks which leaves a dewy finish. Lastly I use Mac soft and gentle mineralise skinfinish to highlight to give me a sun kissed glow.

Now onto my eyes, for my eyebrows I either use AVON brow definer or Naked from the Naked 1 Urban Decay palette which I then set with MUA clear mascara(which is looking slightly grubby, especially as it was once clear!). My eyes are extremely basic, I use to be a lover of black liquid winger liner but i've ditched the liner for eyeshadow. I just use Buck from the Naked 1 Urban Decay palette all over my eyelid and then take it slightly under my eye. After that I use Bobbi Brown long wear gel liner in brown and type line my eyes(this just makes the lash line look thicker). Lastly I use clinique high impact mascara, which gives extra length to my eyelashes but doesn't leave them clumpy which I like for everyday.
To finish off I apply Revlon colourburst lip butter in tutti frutti and just like magic i'm done and ready to go.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday!

HEALTHY SMOOTHIE

Plain yogurt, cup of ice, cup of orange juice, 100g banana, 65g frozen summer fruits

I never really thought I would be the type of person to make smoothies as I thought it would be too much effort! After seeing someones image on Instagram of a smoothie they had made, I thought it was time I had a go. Smoothies are perfect for breakfast as they are quick and you can take it on the go and also are healthy(which is always a bonus). The best bit is that you can make your smoothie the night before put it the the refrigerator and in the morning is still perfect to drink. Their are hundreds of recipes online but here is one I put together which is super simple.
You will need...
  • A cup of ice
  • A cup of orange juice not concentrated
  • 100g of banana
  • 65g of frozen berries
  • 3 tbsp of natural plain yogurt
  • Blender
Add all the ingredients into the blender and blend for around a minute, until everything is blended nicely
Your smoothie is now ready to drink, hope you enjoy!

EUCERIN DERMO PURIFYER SCRUB

Eucerin Dermo Purifyer Scrub (£9.18)
I may have found my favourite ever scrub! This scrub is from the brand Eucerin and even though the packaging is nothing too brag about the product is. As it says on the bottle the scrub unclogs pores, refines skin texture and is also oil free which is good for people(like me) who suffer from oily skin or have combination skin.
The scrub on the skin before massaged in.
The scrub after it has been massaged into the skin.

I like to use this scrub in the shower so my face is already damp and then take a little of the product and massage it into my face. It isn't at all harsh and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft after use, unlike some scrubs which have sharp beads which scratch the skin surface.

I suffer from only a few blemishes but I find this scrub really does help prevent me having break outs or if I do have a blemish I find that this scrub helps the blemish disappear quickly. I definitely recommend giving this scrub a try if you haven't already found your favourite.

SPRING NAIL POLISHES

1. Topshop (Gone Fishing) 2. O.P.I Nail Lacquer (Shorts Story)
3. Barry M Gelly Hi-shine (Blueberry) 4. Topshop (Cafe Au Lait)

As the seasons change so does nail polish colours and as spring has arrived I couldn't think of anything better than to share my four favourite nail polishes for spring! Even though 90% of the time my nails have soak off gel on (which I do myself, and if you would like a review of the millennium gel set- let me know) I have still managed to accumulate a little over the recommended amount of nail polishes needed.

The first and last nail polishes are by Topshop, I really love Topshop nail polishes because they are affordable at £5 and if i'm not mistaken they are selling 2 nail polishes for £8 now (but not sure if this is just a limited offer). The constantly is thick and you can therefore get away with only one coat if in a hurry. The two colours I have chosen are a bright sea green which looks amazing with a tan and off course a nude. Cafe Au Lait has a slight shimmer to it which is only noticeable in certain lights. Topshop have such a wide selection of nail polishes so if you haven't tried any yet then I recommend too.

Everyone loves a bit of pink! And even though O.P.I nail polishes are a little more pricier at £11, the way they apply to the nail and the beautiful packaging makes them sooo worth it. The brush is quite thick and therefore is so easy peasy to apply. The colour shorts story is a vibrant barbie pink. If you are not the biggest fan of bright nails on your hands, try it on your toes.

The last nail polish colour is by Barry M and at £3.99 is a steal. The new gelly formula is by far my favourite and with a few coats really does resemble a gel manicure. The colour blueberry is lovely and has to be one of my all time favourites.

So theres a few of my favourite spring nail polishes, but what are yours?

THE BEGINNING

Hello,

This is my first ever post on my new blog. I've always enjoyed and loved reading peoples blogs especially on beauty products; but i've never really had the confidence to start my own. I thought it was about time I did though(as my unhealthy obsession with beauty products is becoming rather serious), and so here I am.

On this blog I am going to be reviewing beauty products. I know, I know, theres hundreds of blogs out there which do the same, but maybe my review will be the one to change your mind on a product or end up making you try something new! Also will be including some everyday lifestyle posts, which I hope you will enjoy.

Before I start babbling and boring you I'm going to end this opening post. I hope to post very soon with my first review, but until then adios and keep tuned.
